Timeless Elegance with a Modern Edge
How a Constantia homeowner found the perfect match with QS Products

Cape Town interior enthusiast Melissa Jacobs didn’t want fleeting trends. She set out to renovate her family home in Constantia with one goal in mind — achieving timeless elegance with amodern edge

Design That Endures

Melissa began her renovation with a clear vision: she wanted hardware and finishes that would stay relevant over time.

"I didn’t want to follow a trend just for the sake of it,” she says. “I wanted fittings that would still look beautiful ten years from now.”

Her style leaned toward minimalist aesthetics, clean lines, and subtle sophistication — all of which needed to be reflected in her hardware choices too.

A Personalised Approach

This hands-on support allowed Melissa to feel confident in every decision made, knowing that her fittings weren’t just functional — they were part of the design story

Melissa visited Mercury Fittings and connected with one of our architectural sales specialists — a decision that shaped the direction of her interior detailing

“They didn’t just sell me a product — they understood my vision. They took the time to explore my mood board, consider my colour palette, and recommend pieces that tied everything together.” -  Melissa Jacobs

Understated Luxury, Thoughtfully Chosen

Melissa left with a curated selection of QS Products, including:

  • Brushed nickel door handles
  • Matching locks and cylinders
  • Finishes aligned to her matte, modern palette

These details now act as subtle highlights throughout her home — complementing open-plan spaces, soft-toned walls, and carefully selected furnishings. Every touchpoint feels intentional and beautifully resolved

Designing with Intention: A Contemporary Workspace by Harper & Myles Studio

Modern functionality meets refined simplicity through QS Products

Claremont-based design consultancy Harper & Myles Studio was commissioned to oversee the interiors of a private legal office. Their goal: to deliver a workspace that balanced professional elegance with modern simplicity — an environment that felt both refined and practical

Clean, Purposeful Design

“We were looking for clean, functional hardware that would complement a modern workspace,” years from now.” said lead designer Jana Harper

With a client brief focused on clarity and restraint, the team at Harper & Myles began sourcing finishes that offered durability without compromising on visual harmony. Hardware was a defining detail.

Through consultation with Mercury Fittings, the design team was introduced to the QS matte black lever handle range — a bold yet refined choice that integrated seamlessly into the space’s design language.

The matte black finish stood out subtly against neutral surfaces, tying together custom joinery, soft lighting, and glass partitioning with effortless cohesion.

Function Meets Form

For Harper & Myles, the result was more than just a beautiful office — it was a space where every element, including the hardware, served a clear design purpose. QS Products proved to be the finishing touch that elevated the project from functional to exceptional

The QS Products Fit

“The QS range worked perfectly with the overall concept — both visually and practically.”— Jana Harper, Harper & Myles Studio
